Internet explorer question

Im having a problem with the browser on some websites. If i try to log in

it brings up that screen saying "internet explorer cannot display web page"

after the diagnostic test it says to "check the firewall settings for the

http(port80) https(port443) and ftp(port21). Does anybody know how to

fix this?

Do you constantly get that error or every now and then?
Seems to me you are trying to hit a super busy site.

i get it constantly for certain websites....and i know its not from busy traffic

Is it when you try secure sites only?

And do you have Norton Anti Virus?

It happens to me once in awhile and for no apparent reason to where I can't enter secure sites.

i believe it might have to do with secure sites.

when i click to log in...it goes to the page telling me it wont work...

the url in the address bar will start with https: if i click on the address

bar and remove the "S" after the http....then it works fine

Yeah what I do when it happens is just restart my computer..

This happens to me about every 3 weeks or so..

you can try adding the site you're having a problem with to your "trusted sites" and see if that helps:

Tools, Internet Options, Security, Trusted Sites,
then enter the name of the problem website like this:
https://*.yahoo.com
click Add, Close, OK

it might help out
